Behold sensational innovations in the fields of movement, science, and art in an evening of noise, high impact dance, and robotics. Visitors are encouraged to interact with robots, experimenting with noise and paint.
The NYU Program Board Performing Arts Committee has organized an interactive exhibition with the hope of demonstrating the integral relationship of the human to the machine. The show also explores the spontaneous and organic nature of dance in conjunction with the automatic and mechanized actions of robots. They have invited LEMUR and various other robot artists and technicians to collaborate in AUTO + MATOS.
The exhibition will take place the evening of Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 6:30pm in the Eisner Lubin Auditorium of the NYU Kimmel Center (60 Washington Square South). The event is free and open to the public (valid photo ID required). Tickets will be distributed starting Friday October 13, 2006 at NYU Ticket Central located at 60 Washington Square South (Room 206), Monday through Friday 12:30 to 7:00pm.
